FP5 - Quality of Life ProgrammeFOLATE FUNC HEALTH started in February 1999 and finished in July 2004.

The project was co-ordinated by Paul Finglas at the Institute of Food Research, funded by the European Union under the Quality of Life Programme, one of the four thematic programmes of the Fifth Framework Programme (http://www.cordis.lu/life/home.html).

FolateFuncHealth brought together both consumer and commercial interests with an overall aim to provide folate-rich and enriched-foods with specified and scientifically-verified consumer benefits for optimal bioavailability, function and health. Independent nutritional scientists, biochemists, clinicians and food technologists worked together with industry to achieve this goal.
