New IFR website launched

IFR is a world leader in research into harnessing food for health and preventing food-related diseases, based on the Norwich Research Park. Its new website was launch over the weekend of 25th/26th April.

The reconstruction of the IFR website reflects our new science research priorities, centred around the characterisation and understanding of the gut as an integrated biological system, and our integral role in the Norwich Science and Innovation Vision. The main themes of our research are funded by the Biotechnology & Biological Sciences Research Council through 4 new ‘Institute Strategic Programme Grants’.

Our scientists address the UK’s Grand Challenges of obesity and healthy ageing by defining the relationship between food, diet and health. We undertake internationally-ranked fundamental, strategic and applied research with high socio-economic impact, making a real difference to quality of life.

In 2008, IFR was ranked 2nd in the world for the impact of its research in the area of food and agricultural sciences according to an independent survey of published research papers over the last 10 years.
