Metabolomics

The Metabolomics Partnership provides expertise in a wide field of subjects and proposes metabolomics-based analysis to colleagues at the John Innes Centre (JIC) and the Institute of Food Research (IFR) as well as partners outside BBSRC.

We have currently collaborations with colleagues covering most of the science programmes at IFR and with partners from Europe and USA.

• Profiling of intact wheat arabinoxylans by spectroscopy
• An NMR-based pharmacometabonomic study of CYP3A4 activity
• Proton NMR reveals effect on urine metabolite profiles after consumption of polyphenol enriched dark chocolate
• NMR and DGGE on faecal waters from UC and IBS patients
• Microbiology, plant genomics and food analysis with the IFR metabolomics platform
